Meet the MySoda Woody: the ultimate pinnacle of sustainability and design. A mild scent of wood brings a piece of forest to your kitchen and reveals its secret. Instead of using fossil-based plastic, the device's body is made from almost 100% renewable biocomposite. With the Scandinavian MySoda Woody you can make your own sparkling water in an environmentally friendly way. The device creates bubbles in your tap water. Fill the supplied bottle with water and click it into the device, then press the button and you get sparkling water. The MySoda does not require power, so you can place it wherever you want. The included bottle is reusable. This way you use even less plastic. You will receive a CO2 cylinder. This allows you to make up to 60 liters of sparkling water.

The elegant Woody is available in five different colors, all of which have a unique finish with subtly visible wood fibers.

Easy to operate

How do you make that sparkling water? Simply click the bottle into the soda maker and press the button, MySoda will do the rest. Your water is now more sparkling than ever. MySoda does not require electricity and is quiet in use.

CO2 gas cylinder

The device works on a CO2 gas cylinder, which is supplied as standard with the device. All available CO2 gas cylinders fit on this sparkling water maker. MySoda gas cylinders contain only pure food-grade C02 and our cylinders are filled in our own factory in Comines with environmentally friendly wind energy to minimize transport emissions.

Did you know that one CO2 cylinder makes up to 60 liters of sparkling water? Leave the plastic bottles in the supermarket and start making your favorite drinks at home. MySoda cylinders are fully compatible with all sparkling water makers from different manufacturers. We like to recycle the cylinders and fill them again and again with MySoda C02. The life cycle of a cylinder is 40 years!

Why wood-based biocomposite?

The idea came about when MySoda decided to create a new range of sparkling water makers. Great looks were one of the goals of the project, but just as importantly, they wanted to improve their environmental footprint. It has even been decided that MySoda should become a leader in the production of more sustainable household appliances! Making sparkling water and soda at home has many environmentally friendly benefits, but they wanted to do more. After assessing various materials, wood-based biocomposite was clearly the best option for Mysoda. Read more here why this is so environmentally friendly.

No need to cut down trees

There are different types of biocomposites on the market. Let's talk about the one used for MySoda. It is called UPM Formi EcoAce and is made by UPM – The biofore company. This biocomposite is produced by using the residues of the wood and pulp industry. By using residues, trees do not have to be cut down to produce the material. Formi EcoAce has two main components. About 60% consists of bioplastic based on crude tall oil, which is a residue from the pulp manufacturing process. And approximately 40% consists of wood chips collected within the wood processing industry. Biocomposite is in fact a combination of these two completely renewable ingredients.

A sustainable alternative

Unlike crop-based biomaterials, this biocomposite is not harmful to the food production chain. The wood used at the beginning of the production chain always comes from sustainably managed forests. The production of crude tall oil is certified by a third party, which guarantees the sustainability of the material.

This forms the basis of UPM Formi EcoAce biocomposite. According to MySoda, this is an ideal replacement for fossil plastics. They use it to produce more sustainable sparkling water makers. Let's hope other home appliance manufacturers will follow suit.
