Environmental information about Jug Natural rubber FSC- 2L
The natural rubber for the hot water bottles comes from a plantation in Sri Lanka. There, the environment and the rubber trees are treated in a sustainable way. This promotes biodiversity.
The production of the hot water bottles also takes place in Sri Lanka. The factory treats the environment and its employees in a CSR manner. The plantation also works in a socially responsible manner. The fair trade surcharge for every kg of rubber improves the living conditions of the workers. Lotika says she has already paid 100,000 euros in fair-trade premiums; 'Workers and management jointly decide on how to spend the additional cost. This has, among other things, financed a project for clean drinking water.'
